Miss Geico breaks Annapolis to Baltimore record
Miss Geico breaks Annapolis to Baltimore record in no time.
A couple of years back I drove from Annapolis to Baltimore, a distance of only a few miles, but with sections of heavy traffic it still took me close to an hour.
No such problems for the world’s fastest offshore race boat, Miss Geico, which covered the distance between the two cities along the Severn River and across Chesapeake Bay in 10 minutes, 31 seconds.

2007 - AMF/Miss GEICO: Making history at St. Claire.
Miss GEICO, one of the world’s fastest offshore race boats, made history and a screeching statement in July, staking claim to all offshore territory in the Northern U.S., when she brought home a huge win in the fastest race in offshore history. With average lap speeds exceeding 145 miles per hour and top speeds coming in at well over 180, this world-class catamaran issued a call for challenge and competition for the rest of the 2007 season.

2007 - Poker Runs America
John Haggin is one of the wealthiest members of the offshore racing fraternity and most definitely the most well known thanks to the small village he brings to every event. He has seemingly boundless energy that emerges in an endless monologue about how to improve the sport. Yet there is one word you never hear come from his mouth, "me".

2006 - TIME OUT WITH JOHN ARRUDA
Had everything gone to plan, John Arruda would be flying jets high above the water rather than building and installing exotic turbine engines for boats that scream across it. Born and raised in Oslo, Norway, where his father - a former F-4 jet pilot - owned an Evinrude/Johnson outboard dealership, he came to the United States in 1986 with dreams of flight. Those dreams didn't pan out, yet Arruda, now 36, did end up with a pretty sweet gig as a yacht captain in south Florida.

TURBINE MARINE
Turbines done right...
We knew we'd find some of the nicest boats on Stu's Key West Poker Run, but then we came across this Nor-Tech Cat at one of the card stops. The 50 footer is extreme by any standard, but when the twin turbines started winding up - we knew this boat was over-the-top...
